As plastic surgery becomes more and more acceptable in the 21st Century, many teenagers are opting for a surgical solution to their image needs. Professional studies have, time and again, demonstrated how plastic surgery enhances self esteem and increases self confidence; and, teenagers are no different. In fact, teens represent a significant demographic in surgical correction techniques. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, teenagers between the ages of 13 and 19 had nearly 210,000 cosmetic surgery procedures in 2009. While most people think that teenagers do not need to go under the knife, there are a lot of cosmetic procedures popular with this crowd.

ABSTRACT

The method of autologous fat transfer to the breast has been improved by addition of a platelet gel. The fat is obtained during tumescent liposuction using the syringe method. This resulted in a pleasing augmentation in 65 cases studied over a ten year period. The average retention of the transplant was 73%. The majority of these patients have been pleased with their augmentation and there have been no incidents of diffuse firmness of the breasts. Complications have included small areas of ecchymosis and the development of striae. This technique has become a useful addition to the breast augmentation armamentarium and is the procedure of choice for patients who prefer not to have silicone implants.

Breast Augmentation in Orange County

Breast augmentation is one of the most common cosmetic operations performed today. Some women who seek breast augmentation have small breasts and want to balance out their figures. Others have lost breast tissue through aging or childbirth, and some would like to correct breast asymmetry which may be congenital.

Implants can be placed above or below the muscle. Placement is based on several factors: the appearance of your breasts at the time of the consultation, the size of the implant to be used, and desired/expected result. In a sub-glandular placement, the implant is placed over the pectoral muscle and under the breast tissue. This provides for a shorter recovery, but since it is closer to the surface, there is a greater chance that the implant will be more visible under the breast tissue. With sub-muscular placement, the implant is place below both the pectoral muscle and the overlying breast tissue. This area offers less risk of implant visibility and hardened scar tissue around the implant [capsular contracture] and less interference for future mammography. This implant placement requires a slightly longer recovery time to accommodate the stretching of the muscle.

She was referred to our practice by her daughter who had breast lift and augmentation by Dr. Sadati and was very happy with the results. This patient did not want too large of breasts, just lifted and firmer breasts with cleavage.
