International Journal of Cosmetic Surgery:
Paul Valery said, "health is the silence of the organs", and the world health organization that "health is not only the absence of illness but a state of complete mental and social well being". On the other hand, beauty, which Plato placed behind health and before fortune, has not been well defined.
A cosmetic surgeon by definition must create or conserve beauty. Surgical techniques abound in the textbooks of Europe north, south and Central America but, in my opinion, artistic teaching on beauty or human beauty is not taught enough.
The cosmetic surgeon often finds it difficult to define beauty, he is not alone. Ask different people and the answers vary considerably, and in the main are not satisfactory. This is why I thought it would be useful to approach the subject from a psychological point of view, and attempt to understand what it is, that enters the mind of a person, cosmetic surgeon or not, when she percieves, or does not perceive the feeling of beauty. It is important to understand this feeling within us in order to guide us during our operations.
This beautiful young lady is 8 weeks post operative in this revision rhinoplasty before and after picture. She has had previous rhinoplasty surgery with another surgeon; however the results were not satisfactory. She raised her concerns with Dr. Sadati regarding her irregular dorsal and nasal bone area. She had realistic expectation and in search of a natural looking nose. Dr. Sadati offered her an open revision rhinoplasty to improve her nasal shape. Her recovery was quick with minimal discomfort. Her incisions healed well and she is very satisfied with the outcomes.

Above picture shows one of Dr. Sadati’s patients who had a minimally invasive face lift. As you can see there is a significant improvement in neck area which is accomplished by a neck firming procedure called a platysmaplasty in combination with a lower facelift. Also notice that at the corner of the mouth there is no pulling, yet the marionette lines are much improved. Most importantly the incision lines are well healed and hardly can be seen.

Bachelor alum Vienna Girardi is not keeping her plastic surgery a secret. The reality star, who broke it off with fiancé Jake Pavelka last year, has a new boyfriend (Bachelorette alum Kasey Kahl) and a new look! Vienna Girardi has a new boyfriend (Kasey Kahl) and a new nose to go along with him! The reality star tweeted about her plastic surgery recovery.
Vienna, 25, got a nose job by Dr. Franklin Rose, who happens to be the father of Bachelor Pad 2 co-star Erica Rose.
"I want my surgery to be looked at as [a] positive reflection of how I feel. If it makes you feel better about yourself then DO IT," Vienna tweeted. "Couldn't wear makeup during my ET interview [because] of surgery... [Don’t] judge me."
Sunburn Pain Explained; Tips on How to Beat It
Sunburn is one of the summer's most enduring stings, leaving a sore, red, peeling patch long after the day's rays give way to cooler nights. Ointments and Aspirin can help soothe the sear. But the pain, part of the body's plea for shade and sunscreen, is inevitable.
That could change.
British researchers have discovered a molecule responsible for the persistent pain caused by sunburn, offering hope for a treatment that could one day block it.
"It wasn't known before that this protein was implicated in any kind of pain," said Stephen McMahon, professor of physiology at Guy's Medical School in London. "If you wanted a cure for sunburn pain, we may have found that."
The protein, called CXCL5, was elevated in painful sunburns. And blocking the protein's effects in a rat model of sunburn relieved the pain. The study was published today in Science Translational Medicine.
But McMahon, a long time pain researcher, thinks blocking sunburn pain is a bad idea.
"Pain plays a protective role," he said, explaining how the sensation alerts its victim to looming danger. "Stopping pain is not necessarily a good thing."
When performing facial plastic surgery, the surgeon must be able to provide the desired results while maintaining a natural unoperated appearance. This of primary consideration especially in face lift surgeries, and begins and ends with the design and planning of the incisions. Over the past decades many different techniques have been described and proposed.
The design of the incision and the extent of undermining will vary depending on the facial contour, degree of skin laxity, and advancement the plastic surgeon desires for the needs of the patient. To obtain a natural result the surgeon must avoid hair loss or readjustment of the hair line, changes in normal anatomical structures and obvious placement of incisions. These sequelae are commonly seen with temporal hair loss, stair-steps hair loss of the occipital region, loss and/or distortion of the tragus and earlobes, and visible scarring.
There are many factors that contribute to acceleration in the aging process. Hereditary factors, Sun exposure, stress and changes in lifestyle are main component of this process. Droopy and puffy eyelids are the first signs of aging process that make the eyes look weak and tired. Puffy eyelids are as result of fat herniation through eyelid septum, making the eyes droopy and unattractive. Many individuals in their late 30’s and above seek blepharoplasty also known as cosmetic eyelid lift to restore their aging eyes.
Breast augmentation is one of the most popular types of cosmetic procedures performed each year and can have a dramatic positive impact on the way a woman looks and feels. The procedure itself has improved over the years and today is safer with a shorter recovery period than ever before. There are also a larger number of cosmetic surgeons performing the procedure, which gives the patient a wider choice of options for finding a doctor they are comfortable with and can trust.
Male Rhinoplasty or male nose surgery is by far the most complex cosmetic procedure. Nasal reshaping for men is markedly distinctive from that of women. It requires a rhinoplasty surgeon with vast knowledge, expertise and experience of nose to deliver a perfect masculine and straight nose.
